Passion. Experience. Diligence.
Salis Legal PLLC was founded in 2025 by Ryan Frank, a contract and intellectual property attorney serving athletes, artists, and brands. Licensed in both Montana and Washington, Ryan is actively seeking licensure in additional states to expand the reach of Salis Legal. While Salis Legal currently offers its full range of services to Montana- and Washington-based clients, it provides intellectual property services for clients nationwide and internationally.
Born and raised in Montana, Ryan graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman in 2016 with a B.S. in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. After graduation, Ryan balanced his passion for snowboarding and splitboarding in the mountains around Bozeman with part-time work as the marketing and office manager for a local mountain guide service and evenings at area restaurants. In 2018, Ryan moved to Missoula to work as a marketing manager at TOMIS, a software and marketing startup for the tourism industry. Ryan then pursued his legal studies at the Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in May 2022. During law school, Ryan had the privilege of serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Public Land and Resources Law Review.
Ryan founded Salis Legal in 2025 after gaining invaluable experience practicing under some of Montana’s best attorneys following law school. Salis Legal was created to blend Ryan’s legal expertise with his passion for sports, the arts, and the outdoor industry, and to work with individuals and businesses operating in these spaces. Thus, Salis Legal was born to provide high-quality contract and intellectual property legal services specifically tailored to athletes, artists, and brands.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys snowboarding, splitboarding, river surfing, trips to the coast, going to the gym, playing hockey, and unwinding with a cold plunge and sauna or book.
